From the Dean’s Office:
Join us in encouraging students to SPEAK UP & SPEAK OUT!
Dear Wrightwood Elementary School Families,
At CICS Wrightwood, great things are happening here, and we are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all students, free from bullying and harassment. To strengthen our school community, Ms. Washington and I invite you to engage in an important conversation with your child about the significance of speaking out against bullying.
Encourage your child – “IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.” It’s essential that they understand the importance of reporting ANY instances of teasing, harassment, or bullying behavior—whether it takes place in school or on social media. If they witness such actions happening to themselves or classmates, we want them to feel empowered to inform a teacher, a parent, or one of our Deans. While this is frowned upon in a culture that see’s it as “snitching”, we want to create a safe space where bullying behavior is not tolerated and not a norm.
Together, as parents, staff and students we can foster a strong culture of respect and support. Please know that we are actively working to eliminate cyberbullying as well, and we take all reports very seriously! Please monitor your child as it is easy for them to get involved in threads, chats, and messaging apps on their phone that are not safe. Your partnership in this effort is vital, and we appreciate your support in making Wrightwood a safe space for all our students.
Thank you for your continued support!
